once i was dating a guy (before realising im only into women). we werent a good match at all, and he mostly seemed to like me for my looks.
one day out of the blue, he asks if ive considered getting my nipples pierced (for context i have a lip ring, a septum, two earrings in both ears, a nostril piercing, and i did have a navel but it rejected). i told him i wanted it but i cant, because 1. im scared of the pain and 2. it would be way too hard to care for and may well reject also. and for those of you who dont know, a rejecting body piercing is nightmarish. i had good reason to believe they probably wouldnt heal well, so i wasnt gonna do it
i explained to him why i cant, even though i wish i could.
he brings it up another time in passing. im a little annoyed because ive already told him, but i figure maybe he took it the wrong way because i said i wish i could. so i tell him firmer that i cant and wont, and restate why.
later i ask him to drop it because its making me feel insecure because its something i would want but cant have, and the fact hes said it twice makes me feel like he doesnt really appreciate me as much without them. he gets defensive but says he understands.
well, surprise surprise, about a week later he brings it up again. “so i know you dont want to but i just think it would be so hot if you got them pierced, id really like it”. FUCK IT! this time, i was done explaining. i let him finish his mini talk and calmly said in the most convincing genuine tone possible “and you know what i always thought would be so hot?”
him: “what?”
me: “if you got your dick pierced” (and i felt him kind of recoil a little so i doubled down) “**right through the tip**”
he yelled out in disgust and horror and said “oh jesus no that would be so painful! oh god!” and i said “exactly!” and he never brought it up again
