Woman Breaks Up With Boyfriend Who Won’t Wipe After Bathroom

📅 January 9, 2026 👁️ 26 views ⏱️ 2 min read
A 20-year-old woman discovered her boyfriend has terrible bathroom hygiene and smells constantly during cuddles. When she asked him to wipe properly, he called her embarrassing and refused to change, so she dumped him on the spot.

The Original Post

I’m 20F and my ex boyfriend is also 20. I’m not asking for relationship advice, but rather sharing something i thought was insane to me.

I recently found out he doesn’t wipe good enough, whenever we cuddle i notice a smell and i can even smell it in his clothes.

He’s 20 years old, he’s a grown man and this is just absolutely disgusting.

I told him that i wanted him to wipe after using the bathroom because like i said…

He’s 20 years old and not a toddler. I cannot stress this enough.

I told him that i noticed this over the past few weeks and he told me that i was “embarrasing” him and that he “doesn’t care” what i think. And that he wasn’t gonna do it just because i told him too.

Yeah, that’s what he said. So i broke up with him because i’m not dating a grown man who can’t wipe himself.

What Reddit Said

Redditors were absolutely horrified by the boyfriend’s behavior and hygiene. Most commenters praised OP for having standards and refusing to tolerate such basic cleanliness issues. However, many were shocked that this problem seems surprisingly common among young men.

The consensus was clear: proper hygiene is non-negotiable in relationships. Moreover, his dismissive attitude when confronted was seen as an even bigger red flag than the original problem.

The Verdict

Reddit unanimously supported OP’s decision to break up with her boyfriend who won’t wipe properly. This represents a fundamental incompatibility in basic hygiene standards. The community agreed this falls under relationship dealbreakers and praised her for maintaining her boundaries in this hygiene situation.
